THE STARTING POINT

A problem worth working on.

People operations become harder as information fragments across attendance sheets, payroll files, training notes, and disconnected processes.

WHAT I BUILT

From intention to implementation.

  • Connected workforce tasks in a shared application, with Supabase and PostgreSQL underneath.
  • Built workflows for recruitment, employee records, attendance, payroll, and coaching.
  • Added a read-only Maharishi record assistant and local Whisper transcription for call-review work, with human review kept explicit.

THE TECHNOLOGY, EXPLAINED

Where intelligence fits.

Karya contains two distinct systems. Maharishi is a read-only structured record assistant: supported phrases (including spelling variants and Hinglish) map to permission-checked topics such as leave, attendance, payslips, letters, equipment, and policies. It shows explicit choices for ambiguity, plus sources and timestamps; tenant isolation and row-level security gate record access. Separately, a Transformers.js worker runs Whisper speech-to-text for call review. Phrase checks are deterministic and people enter review scores.

WHERE IT STANDS

What exists today.

A connected operational tool designed around the everyday work of managing teams, supported by role and data access policies.

Maharishi does not send employee records to a general language model or approve, update, or delete them. Transcription supports reviewers; it does not autonomously assess employee performance.

Technical descriptions are based on a review of the project’s source and available endpoints in October 2026. They describe implemented capabilities, not independently measured business outcomes.
